DENBY & WHOOSHING

As Denby's adventure begins to ramp up I will be making blog posts to keep everyone updated. It seems like a fun idea.

If you would prefer not to know how the "tacos are made," then you should probably stop reading now. The blog posts will not be spoilerific, but I suppose they could take away a little of the magic.

As I wrote last week, Denby is a work in progress. A work in progress in a genre that I have never attempted. I am posting chapters each week to keep myself to a rigorous schedule of deadlines.

There is a famous quote by Douglas Adams that I believe everyone can relate to — "I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by."

I am trying to limit the whooshing.

.

Chapters 12, 13, 14, and 15 will be posted soon (either this afternoon or Friday).

All chapters are first drafts. They have had commas moved into their rightful spots, but that is about it.

I am estimating that the first draft will be around 200 and some pages. Which means it should wrap up before the end of summer—give or take.

At that point, I will set Denby aside for a moment before rewriting, revising, editing, and creating the second draft. I anticipate that the main themes and story arcs will survive, although you never know where the story may want to go.

If you have been keeping up chapter by chapter, as most of you have, don't worry that I will write myself into a corner without an end game. Certain things regarding Denby's journey have been mapped out. I've got this. ;)

Regardless if you are keeping up chapter by chapter or are waiting to read until it is closer to completion, I recommend signing up for the email updates. No spam will be sent, only a weekly reminder of where Denby is on his fantastical journey.

As always, thanks for reading.
